The odds for the U.S. Federal Reserve to cut its benchmark fed funds rate by 50 basis points are on the rise, according to CME FedWatch. This comes after an article from the Wall Street Journal’s Nick Timiraos, nicknamed “Nikileaks” for his excellent sources inside the Fed, suggested that the size of the rate cut was still up for debate.
