My AI GPU rental server finally filled up with customers… and almost immediately I discovered a huge problem.
The RTX 3070 Founders Edition GPUs started overheating inside the server chassis, fan speeds maxed out, and the entire server became incredibly loud. In this video I troubleshoot the airflow issues, test acoustic panels to reduce server noise, remove drive caddies for better cooling, and discuss whether repasting or deshrouding the GPUs is the next step.
Building AI GPU rental servers has definitely been more challenging than I expected, but that’s all part of documenting the journey.
